The rebuilt keep of a 1602 castle, whose fifth floor juts out over the fourth.

About 10 min on foot from the south side
Kitakyushu’s old “kitchen” market, known for fish simmered in rice-bran paste.
Shops roughly 10:00–18:00. Buy a bowl of rice and add toppings from different stalls.
