Subway Nanakuma Line one stop to Kushida-jinja-mae, then 2 min on foot
Hakata’s guardian shrine, home of the Yamakasa festival floats.
Free, 4:00–22:00. A towering festival float is on show all year except June.
Canal City Hakataキャナルシティ博多
About 10 min on foot from the Hakata Exit
A shopping complex around an indoor canal, with fountain shows and a ramen food court.
Shops 10:00–21:00, restaurants 11:00–23:00.
Ōhori Park and Fukuoka Castle ruins大濠公園・福岡城跡
Subway Airport Line to Ōhori-kōen, no change
A big lake park, once the castle’s outer moat, beside the stone walls of Fukuoka Castle.
Free. The walk around the lake takes about 40 min; climb the keep base for the view.
Dazaifu Tenmangū太宰府天満宮
Tabito direct bus from Hakata Bus Terminal (40–45 min), or subway and Nishitetsu trains (about 50 min)
The head Tenmangū shrine, for the scholar Sugawara no Michizane, known for its plum trees.
Free. Gates about 6:30–19:00 (to 18:30 Dec–Mar). Since 19 Sep 2026 you can pray at the restored main hall again.
Yatai food stalls屋台（中洲）
Subway Airport Line to Nakasu-Kawabata, then 5 min on foot
About a hundred street-food stalls that set up each evening: ramen, oden, yakitori.
From about 18:00. Many take cash only; stalls may close in rain or strong wind. No toilets.
