Peace Memorial Park and Museum平和記念公園・平和記念資料館
Tram line 2 or 6 from the station (2F) to Genbaku Dome-mae, about 13 min, then 10 min on foot
The park near the hypocentre, with memorials and the museum that records the atomic bombing of 6 August 1945.
Museum 7:30–19:00 (Dec–Feb to 18:00); ¥200. Timed tickets online help skip the line. The tram is ¥240.
Atomic Bomb Dome原爆ドーム
Tram line 2 or 6 to Genbaku Dome-mae (about 13 min), then 1 min on foot
The ruin of a 1915 exhibition hall that stood almost beneath the blast, kept as a World Heritage memorial.
Seen from outside at any time; free. Walk south over the Motoyasu Bridge into the park.
Hiroshima Castle広島城
About 25 min on foot, or the Meipuru-pu loop bus from the Shinkansen Exit (about 6 min)
A moated castle park. The rebuilt keep closed for good in March 2026; the wooden Ninomaru buildings are open.
Grounds and Ninomaru free; Ninomaru 9:00–16:30 (Apr–Sep to 17:30).
Shukkeien Garden縮景園
About 10 min on foot
A 1620 lord’s strolling garden around a pond with islands and bridges, restored after 1945.
9:00–17:00 from 16 Sep (to 18:00 from 16 Mar); ¥350. Closed 29–31 Dec.
Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine宮島・嚴島神社
JR San’yō Line to Miyajimaguchi (about 28–30 min), then the 10-min ferry
A vermilion shrine built out over the tidal flats, with its great torii standing in the sea.
6:30–18:00 (closes earlier from 15 Oct); ¥300 (the shrine’s fee page says no credit cards). At high tide the shrine seems to float; at low tide you can walk out to the torii.
