A castle of 1622 right by the station; its keep holds a hands-on history museum.

9:00–17:00, last entry 16:30; ¥500. Closed Mondays, and 29 Sep–2 Oct and 25–26 Nov 2026.

Tomonoura鞆の浦

An old port town on the Seto Inland Sea, with an 1859 stone lantern that guided ships in.

Buses every 20 min. Pay with an IC card or small change: the machine on board changes only ¥1,000 notes.
