Senkōji Ropeway and Temple千光寺
Bus from stand 1 (via Nagae) to Nagaeguchi, about 10 min
A three-minute ropeway over temple roofs to a hilltop park above the Onomichi Channel.
Ropeway 9:00–17:15, ¥500 one way; closed 7–25 Dec 2026. Ride up, then walk down past the temple.
Onomichi temple walk古寺めぐり
Bus to Onomichi Station (about 15 min); the walk starts 1 min away
About 2 km of stone lanes linking Onomichi’s old hillside temples.
Free; allow about 3 hours. Most temples open about 8:00–17:00.
Shimanami Kaidō by bikeしまなみ海道
Bus to Onomichi Station (about 15 min); the bike rental is 1 min away
A 70 km bike route over the islands and seven bridges to Imabari.
Bikes from ¥3,000 a day, 8:00–19:00 (Dec–Feb to 18:00). Take the ferry to Mukaishima, not the bridge. Book ahead for holidays.
