Goryōkaku Tower五稜郭タワー
Hakodate Liner to Hakodate (22 min, ¥440), then the tram to Goryōkaku-kōen-mae (about 16 min, ¥230) and about 10 min on foot
The observation tower that looks down on the star-shaped fort.
9:00–18:00 every day, last tickets 17:50. Adults ¥1,200. Buses from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto go direct (about 41–75 min, ¥660), but the tower suggests riding on to Hakodate, where buses are more frequent.

Hakodate’s star-shaped fort, now a city park beside the tower.
Hakodate City lists the park as open around the clock, every day of the year.
