Ikuta Shrine生田神社
About 10 min on foot north of JR Sannomiya and the other lines’ Sannomiya stations
The shrine in the middle of Sannomiya, a 10-minute walk north of the stations.
The gates close at 17:00; the amulet and goshuin counter is open 9:00–16:30.
Kobe City Museum神戸市立博物館
About 10 min on foot from JR Sannomiya’s West exit (also 10 min from Hankyu or Hanshin Sannomiya, or JR Motomachi’s East exit)
The city museum between Sannomiya and Motomachi, with a free history floor.
Closed 24 Sept–9 Oct 2026 to change exhibitions; open again from 10 Oct. 9:30–17:30 (Fridays and Saturdays to 20:00), last entry 30 min before. Usually closed Mondays (the next weekday when Monday is a holiday). The 1F history room is free; the 2F collection show ¥300.
Weathercock House風見鶏の館
Kitano-chō 3-13-3, uphill north of Sannomiya (the city gives no walking time)
A brick ijinkan in Kitano, a national Important Cultural Property run by Kobe City.
9:00–17:00, last entry 16:45. Closed the third Tuesday of the month (the next day when it is a holiday). Adults ¥500; with the Moegi House ¥800.
