Japan’s first keep rebuilt in wood the old way (1994), beside a palace that survives from the Edo period.

Kakegawa Kachoen掛川花鳥園
About 15 min on foot from the South Exit
A mostly roofed bird-and-flower park with owls, penguins and bird shows.
9:00–16:30; ¥2,000 from 1 Oct 2026. Closed the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays.
