Station tips
- One ticket gate, on B1. The platforms are on B2: platform 1 for Sanjō and Demachiyanagi, platform 2 for Yodoyabashi and the Nakanoshima Line.
- Fushimi-inari is about 22 minutes by direct train. Limited expresses don’t stop there, so take a slower train.
- Keihan Tourist Information Center Gion-shijō is in the station concourse.
Gion-shijō · Exits 1–9
Exits 1–9 come up at the east end of Shijō Ōhashi bridge, where Shijō-dōri meets Kawabata-dōri. For Yasaka Shrine, walk east along Shijō-dōri: about 5 minutes (the shrine’s own figure). Hankyu Kyoto-kawaramachi is across the bridge, on the west bank.

About 5 min on foot, east along Shijō-dōri
Gion’s shrine at the top of Shijō-dōri, home of the Gion Matsuri.
Always open and free. Maruyama Park is right behind it.
Hanamikōji花見小路
About 5 min on foot
Gion’s stone-paved street of wooden teahouses.
A public street with traffic: keep to the side. Never touch, follow or photograph geiko or maiko without asking.
