About 5 min on foot from the North Exit
Stone walls and two original corner turrets of a 1619 castle, across the old moat from the station.
The park is free and open to stroll. The turrets open only on some weekends and holidays in spring and autumn, 10:00–16:00.
Uonotana Market魚の棚商店街
About 5 min on foot, south of the station
A covered market street of about 100 shops selling sea bream, octopus and fish landed the same day.
Roughly 8:00–18:00; many shops close on Thursdays. Try Akashi-yaki, the local egg-rich octopus dumplings.
